Light-Driven Hydrogen Production from Aqueous Solutions Based on a New Dubois-Type Nickel Catalyst

    Get PDF
In this work, we report a new photocatalytic system that links multifunctional semiconductor nanocrystals with emerging water-soluble molecular catalysts made of earth-abundant elements for H2 generation [Ni(P2RN2R′)2(BF4)2]4−, R = Ph, R′ = [PhSO3]− (NiS). This noble metal free hybrid exhibits remarkable catalytic activity with a turnover number of 511 for H2 production and a photon-to-H2 conversion efficiency of 12.5%. The mechanistic insight into such high efficiency in this photocatalytic system was examined using a combination of steady-state emission and time-resolved absorption spectroscopy

Multi chiral-doublets in one single nucleus

Adiabatic and configuration-fixed constraint triaxial relativistic mean field (RMF) approaches are developed for the first time and a new phenomenon, the existence of multi chiral-doublets (Mχ\chiD), i.e., more than one pairs of chiral doublets bands in one single nucleus, is suggested for nuclei in A~100 region, typically for 106^{106}Rh, based on the triaxial deformations together with their corresponding proton and neutron configurations.Comment: 10 pages, 4 figure

Calculation of Elastic Green's Functions for Lattices with Cavities

In this Brief Report, we present an algorithm for calculating the elastic Lattice Greens Function of a regular lattice, in which defects are created by removing lattice points. The method is computationally efficient, since the required matrix operations are on matrices that scale with the size of the defect subspace, and not with the size of the full lattice. This method allows the treatment of force fields with multi-atom interactions.Comment: 3 pages. RevTeX, using epsfig.sty. One figur
